La Huida (The Runaway)

Award-winning film with too many details, and yet with not enough of them. Cute mystery flick. Lovely cinematography, great music, fun narrator. Beautifully made, genius film.

Oda

This is a 3-minute ode to a train wreck that happened on a certain day. (Its significance comes from the 2012 Buenos Aires rail disaster, AKA the Once tragedy.)

It's more poetic and musical than anything.

Sin Comentarios (No Comment)

A quick, cute movie about a couple who got into a fight, and wherein both refuse to talk about it. As Mama always said: never go to bed angry.

El Rincón De Venezuela (The Venezuelan Corner)

This award-winning film is about the story of a Venezuelan family trying to make it out in America, after fleeing their politically laden country, which was then ruled by Hugo Chavez.

Mixes in family drama, adapting to new cultures, and the cute Hispanic busboy. Makes me crave for arepas.

TDK (Twice Disabled Knight / El Guerrero Sordociego)

This short film is described as, "Three boys on the way back home witness an odd hero in action". What a funny little film! There was a moment of seemingly supposed silence, but it's important, so don't think the vid's broke. This is great stuff.

Muñeca

This short film shows you just how to pick up a sexy beach babe: with a heartfelt song on a stringed instrument. Pretty catchy beat, this one. Cute.

El Pasajero (The Passenger)

Academy Awards eligible in 2010. Great short film of 30+ minutes with desperate men and a budding friendship. Salsa dancing never looked more fun.

La Mano Dela Muerte (Hand of Death)

This is an illusionary-like film featuring a man reliving scenes of death and justice. Interesting play of light and dark, of sounds and silence. Plenty of symbols, few words. Very curious.

7:35 De La Mañana (7:35 In The Morning)

This is the cutest and weirdest thing in 8 minutes that I've seen for a while. Ever tried a flash mob to capture a girl's heart? Yeah, that, and it's in black-and-white glory. Fantastic musical short.

036

This short film is about how a girl just wants to drop off some forms at an office, but the power-tripping clerk, in turn, wants to make things hard for her. Genius, fun little movie, with just a touch of a Mexican showdown.

La Migala (The Bird Spider)

This short film is an incredibly intense drama in all of its 13 beautiful minutes. I love/hate the thought of trying to forget a hellish situation by introducing oneself to another hellish situation. Nice mood-setting music, too.

Spiderboy

This short film is about a young boy, and his wish to be super... For an almost tear-jerking cause. Really cute, really sweet.

Oh, and the credits look great, too.
