Speechless

This short film about lesbians and the friends they fall in love with is part-movie, part-documentary. It features the story of two friends falling asleep on the same bed, while it also has snippets of live interviews with lesbians talking about their personal experiences.

I suppose human relationships, even those between women, aren't ever easy. (Here's another film about, in turn, a guy falling for his lady friend.)

El Día Después (The Morning After)

This short film is about a boss and her female employee talking about what happened last night. It's just a simple conversation, but their body language offer more than what their words have to offer. Cute.

Deseos Encontrados (Found Pleasure)

This short film is about two girls who are best of friends, and how one of them may just have feelings for the other. It's interesting how this kind of scenario is applicable (and maybe more apparent) to everyone today, so be ever so mindful.

(Mi Amigo Jaime is a film of a similar nature, only with teen boys as its principal actors.)

Alma

This short film is about Alma, a woman caught in the tangle of human trafficking. She begins the day simply, with not many expectations, but ends up in a terrible situation that is not of her own choosing.

This is gritty and sad. It also makes you reflect on the horrible, illegal industry where a lot of people get rich from, on the pain of others.

Presencia (Presence)

This short film about two women and a possible crime scene raises more questions than answers. Who wants to kill who? Who is the guy in the hoodie? What actually happened that night?

[Also check out Obsesión, another film by the same director, which has other women amidst other (stalkerish) crimes.]

Obsesión (Obsession)

This short film about a woman obsessed over a famous model is really rather eerie. Obsession to the point of sending death threats indeed shows an unstable mind.

Nevertheless, great acting on this one. Oh, and fan service.

Salón Royale

This slice-of-life film features girl talk and will-my-ex-be-there talk. I find it amazing how this film is told with facial expressions, as well as with words said and unsaid. I also find it interesting that it's shot almost entirely inside a moving vehicle.

But yeah, it will probably be over in two days.
