Bendito Machine II: The Spark Of Life

This short animated film features beautiful artwork, interesting characters, and a notable lesson about greed. Yes, Bendito Machine II definitely carries on the world (and careless personalities) of Bendito Machine I: Everything You Need. This time, however, the lesson involves a kind of fizzy drink, and righteous karma.

Curious short film, but definitely relatable. And, perhaps, relevant.

(This has no dialogue, by the way. Watch it now! Then again, maybe you're looking for more silent films? Here are some animated ones, too - Fuga is one of my favorites.)

Situación Idílica (Idyllic Situation)

This short film is about a guy who, laden by work, suddenly finds his desk clear of papers. Forays into a snow-filled world soon come around, too.

But seriously, if only work could go away just like that - beautiful.

A Short Love Story In Stop Motion

This short film uses stop motion animation to tell the story of a little girl's dream of love and life. With simple scenes and hardly any dialogue, this movie is simple, yet beautiful.

El Monstruo

This animated short film is about a girl with a big bag, and a cab driver getting very curious about it. What in the world could be in that bag?

Eres Cada Solitario Instante (You Are Each Solitary Moment)

This short film about a young man who committed murder (and then simply walked away) leaves my mind blown. Done with little dialogue but with quite some build-up, this film just amazes me with its simplicity and impact.

Here's the director's given snippet about the film:

Inspired in (sic) the poem "You are not the others" (The iron coin, 1976) by Argentinian writer Jorge Luis Borges, this film tells the story of a young man that kills in cold blood a person who has entered into his house, and then escapes from the crime scene.

(Want to see another short film that features, once again, a coldblooded murderer? Check out La Culpa.)
