El Viaje (The Trip)

This award-winning short film features two boys stumbling upon a man who has, to put it as they have, "gone on a trip". With the story told in beautiful black-and-white, we look at the story of an overdosed drug addict through the eyes of these young kids. Such a hearty end note.

Desire on a Fall Afternoon

This short film about a girl baby-sitting a boy on a wheelchair has hidden desire written all over it. It must ache to want to be touched.

But really, that caged bird provided quite a message from the start.

Mi Amigo Jaime

This short film about a teenage boy and his friend Jaime is actually rather sweet. Amidst pool laps and beach waves, it depicts just how it feels like when you fall in love with your best friend.

Also, bromance.

Sin Decir Nada (Don't Say a Word)

This short film about the crush of a teenage lesbian is rather sweet. I find it interesting how snapshots, movements, and perceived closeness do well to give rather intimate views.

*There are English subtitles for this, which you can enable as captions on the video.
**Just to note: Video quality here is not very good.

Violento (Violent)

This film features the sad story of a bullied teenager.

While it was not as violent as I thought it would be, it had definitely pulled on my heartstrings. A moment of silence may be necessary after watching this.
